Sensor-Less Solar Tracking Demonstrator
A solar-orientation demonstrator that positions a panel using time and location inputs rather than relying on exposed light sensors.
Make changing solar orientation tangible in a teaching environment.
A solar panel’s orientation is easier to understand when students can observe it change through the day. This demonstrator presents a configurable panel-positioning experience with a local display of orientation and setup information.
- Two-axis orientation
- time and location configuration
- local setup interface
- angle display
- adjustable offsets
- daytime tracking and night return
- reduced dependence on outdoor sensing elements
The user experience
An instructor configures time, location and the demonstration setup. Learners observe the panel position, review displayed angles and discuss daytime tracking and the return to a starting position at night.
Practical value
Supports practical learning and early evaluation. It does not by itself establish energy-yield gains, outdoor durability or commercial-system performance.
Application scenarios
Examples of potential use, not claims of an existing deployment.
Renewable-energy laboratories
Demonstrate orientation concepts through visible movement and repeatable classroom exercises.
Prototype evaluation
Explore setup and operating behaviour before defining a larger energy-system study.
